Terms of service

Who these terms are with

These terms are an agreement between SIG Optimal Ltd (company number 17276011, registered office 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, WC2H 9JQ, United Kingdom), which runs Orbelos, and the organisation that subscribes (“you”). Whoever accepts them on your behalf confirms they may do so.

Orbelos is a service for businesses. It is not offered to consumers, and you subscribe in the course of your business.

The service

Orbelos tracks the public X and LinkedIn posts of the people on your lists and gives you a weekly briefing, figures, topics and reports about them. What you can use depends on your package:

  • Starter: 5 lists of up to 100 people (500 people in all), 3 users, the week as the period, the report builder and 20 exports a billing month. A new list starts with 1 month of history on X and LinkedIn.
  • Pro: 10 lists of up to 250 people (2,500 people in all), 10 users, the week, month, quarter, half year and custom periods, the report builder and 100 exports a billing month. A new list starts with 1 year of history on X and 1 month on LinkedIn.

Each package is for one client space. We may change what a package includes for the better at any time; we tell you at least 30 days before any change that reduces it.

Each package also carries usage allowances for a billing month: the new people you add (people whose history Orbelos has to collect for you; people it already tracks for your package are free), the lists you make, and the lookups of accounts Orbelos does not hold. The allowances and what you have used are shown in Settings. They refill on your billing day, and removing people or deleting lists does not give them back.

Orbelos depends on what X and LinkedIn make public and on the providers that collect it. If a platform stops or limits access, we tell you and do our best to keep the service running, but we cannot promise any platform will remain available.

Prices, payment and cancellation

Prices are in pounds sterling and are shown on the Packages page. Prices exclude VAT, which is added where it applies.

  • Starter: £199 a month.
  • Pro: £990 for the first 2 months, paid upfront when you subscribe, then £499 a month.

Pro starts with 2 months paid upfront (£990), then £499 a month. Payments are not refundable.

Payment is taken in advance by card through Stripe, each billing period from the day you subscribe. You can cancel at any time from the billing page; cancelling takes effect at the end of the period you have paid for, and you keep access until then. Payments already made are not refunded, in whole or in part. On Pro, the first 2 months are a minimum term and cannot be cancelled before they end.

If a payment fails, we try again over the next 15 days. If it has still not been paid by then, the subscription ends and your client is suspended. A suspended client cannot be used, and its lists are no longer updated.

Trials and the demo

We may offer a free trial of Starter by a private link. A trial lasts 90 days, needs no card, and is limited to 1 list of 50 people. If you add a card before it ends, it becomes a paid Starter subscription; if not, it ends and the client is suspended.

The demo shows the lists we publish, for 3 months from the day you accept the link. Each email address can use the demo once.

Your use of Orbelos

You are responsible for the people you give access to and for what they do. You must not:

  • use Orbelos to harass, intimidate or discriminate against anyone, or to make decisions about a person’s employment, credit, housing or access to services;
  • try to identify people beyond what they have made public, or combine Orbelos data with other data to do so;
  • resell or give access to Orbelos itself, or copy its data in bulk to build another product;
  • break the law, including data protection law, or try to break, probe or overload the service.

You will reimburse us for any loss, cost or damage we suffer because of misuse of Orbelos by you or the people you give access to. Misuse includes using Orbelos in a way that gets around its normal use, for example adding accounts in bulk or by automated means, or adding accounts that are automated or publish at volumes no person posts at, so as to run up data collection or processing charges.

When you use what Orbelos shows you about a person, you are responsible for doing so lawfully. We may suspend access that breaks these rules, and tell you why.

Generated content

Summaries, topics, stance and other judgements in Orbelos are produced by language models from public posts. They can be wrong. Judgements are marked Indicative and describe a group of posts over a period, never a single post. Check anything you rely on against the posts behind it, which Orbelos always shows, before you publish it or act on it.

Your reports and the lists you build are yours. The posts belong to their authors, and the software, its design and its analysis remain ours.

Corrections and removal

Every page of analysis in Orbelos, and every export, says that it is generated from public posts and may contain errors. If a topic label, a summary or any other generated text is wrong, or says something about a person or an organisation that their posts do not support, use "Report a problem" beside it in Orbelos, or write to us at hello@orbelos.com naming the page and the text.

We act on a report at once: the label or text is withheld from every page and export of the client while we review it. We then correct it, keep it withheld, or restore it if it holds, and the decision is recorded.

Anyone whose public posts Orbelos reads, or who is named in what it generates, can ask us in the same way to correct or remove what concerns them, or to stop reading their posts, as our privacy notice describes.

Your data

We handle personal data as our privacy notice describes. You can export your reports at any time while your subscription is active. Data of a suspended client is kept so that it can be reactivated; ask us if you want it deleted.

Liability

We provide Orbelos with reasonable skill and care, but we do not promise it will be uninterrupted or free of errors, or that its analysis will be complete or correct.

We are not liable for loss of profit, revenue, business, goodwill or data, or for any indirect or consequential loss. Our total liability in any 12 months is limited to the fees you paid us in those 12 months.

Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not allow to be limited.

Changes and governing law

We may update these terms. We tell you at least 30 days before a change that affects you takes effect; if you do not accept it, you may cancel before then.

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
